Beginning 2009, Walls improved its concept. More than seven years ago, Walls already caused a stir in the art market for its unconventional approaches.

Walls Gallery, situated on the Prinsengracht, in the centre of the Spiegelkwartier, enables young (inter)national artists to display their works according to a rigorous selection process. Every two months, the gallery offers over 15 new and talented artists an opportunity to break through into the art world. Previously, the gallery did this by ‘renting out’ its walls and asking a 40% commission on artworks sold.

In this way, we serve the client as well as the artist in a pleasant manner, whereas from a commercial point of view the artists are now given better possibilities in the market. For the first time, there will be a gallery which lowers the threshold between client and artist and makes art buying more accessible than ever before…
